As with all Topo Athletic Updates the Men's Topo MTN Racer 4 combines small updates with everything you loved about the previous editions of Topo MTN Racers. The 4th edition has a snugger fit around forefoot, a hydrophobic FKT TPU insole and a slightly softer midsole. These updates combined with the Topo fit and Vibram Megagrip outsole create the most versatile Men's Topo MTN Racer to date.

Topo Athletic has always been known for footwear that has a wide forefoot, snug midfoot and secure heel. The Men's Topo MTN Racer 4 brings the Topo fit together with a 5mm drop, Zip Foam midsole and Vibram Megagrip outsole. The MTN 4 Racer includes Topos updated proprietary Zip Foam material allowing the Mens MTN Racer 4 to have increased cushioning without increasing weight. Compared to the MTN Racer 3 the upper has brushed feel while retaining the durability of the engineered mesh.

The minimal decreased forefoot volume combined with softer cushioning has made the MTN Racer a go to for trail runners in Salida, Colorado and the mountains in and around Chaffee County. Runners have now used the MTN Racers with high levels of success hiking the Colorado Trail, Continental Divide Trail and running 100 mile Ultras such as the Leadville 100 and High Lonesome 100.

Technologies

• Vibram Megagrip Outsole

Vibram created this rubber compound to perform in extreme conditions and thats why Topo Athletic placed it on their Mens MTN Racer 4. This compound formed into a 5mm lug pattern means that the nastiest wet and slick terrain can be handled with confidence. The tread is spaced in a manner that allows debris to escape as opposed to accumulating on the outsole.

• Updated Zip Foam

A blended EVA and TPU foam that has a nice blend of dampening, bounce and durability. The updated Zip Foam allow the MTN Racer 4 to have increased softness without increasing the weight compared to previous MTN Racer models.

• Topo Athletic Fit

All Topo Athletic shoes are built on a foundation of wide-forefoot, snug midfoot and secure heel. At 7000 Feet Running Company many customers are looking for forefoot space but dont want a loose heel and the Topo MTN Racer 4 meets that requirement. An important note about the fit of MTN Racer 4 compared to the previous models is that the MTN Racer 4 has slightly less volume in the forefoot.

• FKT Insole

This beaded TPU insole allows for increased transpiration of the moisture off the foot and out of the shoe. Customers had mentioned that previous Topo insoles could become wet on rainy and humid days so they created an insole that would eliminate blistering and moisture containment within the shoe.
